Review of a Decade of Research on Asian Parti-colored Bat

2011 年從大煙囪發現霜毛蝠的那一刻開始,研究與保育就隨之展開。筆者從 2012 年開始協助進行相關的調查研究,包含觀察、計數與收集蝙蝠排遺等,藉此了解新竹六燃是如何獲得霜毛蝠的青睞,作為牠們的夏季生殖棲所,每年固定有母蝙蝠回來產子育幼。另外,為了讓大家能多關注蝙
蝠而開辦蝙蝠保母工作坊與蝙蝠屋製作等相關環境教育課程,十年時間逐漸開枝散葉,扭轉蝙蝠的形象。2018 年伴隨著新竹六燃的轉型,執行「大煙囪廠房基地」保溫睦鄰駐站計劃,讓自然生態保育與文化資產保存共同發展與推廣,期許兩者雙贏,繼續再邁入下一個十年!
No sooner had Asian parti-colored bats been found at the Big Chimney in 2011 than people began to study and conserve them. Since 2012, I have offered to assist with related survey researches like observing and counting the bats as well as collecting their excrement, through which I understand why the former Imperial Japanese Navy’s Sixth Fuel Factory in Hsinchu has become their summer reproductive habitat where female bats regularly return each year to have delivery and incubate their babies. In order to draw public attention to Asian parti-colored bats, we also held several environmental education workshops that guide the participants to take care of these bats and build bat houses. After a decade of diversified efforts, we managed to dispel the negative stereotypes about bats. The transformation of the Sixth Fuel Factory and the implementation of the Good-Neighboring Project in 2018 collectively facilitate the development and promotion of natural ecology conservation and cultural assets preservation. We expect such a win-win situation to sustain into the next decade!
